All of the Coldiron books are great. This book is set in New Orleans during the Civil War. It tells of the occupation of the city and the way life changed of the people of New Orleans. This book is like all of F.M. Parker's books, full of action. I like how Mr. Parker introduces characters and you try to figure out how they fit into the story. If you like westerns this is one of the best authors to read.
